Rubber Coating

Part of the elastomer family, rubber is a polymer, which exist in two different states: natural rubber and synthetic rubber. In its natural form (NR), it is directly derived from the latex sap of rubber trees. In its synthetic form, it is made from the polymerization of hydrocarbons, emerged from petrochemistry.

Known for its remarkable elastic properties and dynamic behavior: up to 700% elongation at break, and a very high resistance to abrasion and tearing, rubber is the only elastic material, which is resistant to temperature and a multitude of fluids. NR is widely used in all areas of industry. It is non-slippery and easy to shape through molding and can be cut easily. It can also be welded with a resistant polyurethane glue or with a polyurethane resin.

Characteristics

Among the different types of synthetic rubbers, we can mention the rubber Nitrile Hydrogen HNBR, known for its resistance to oil and hydrocarbons, Ethylene Propylene EPDM rubber for the versatility and resistance to UV and aging, the rubber Fluorocarbon FKM for its resistance to temperatures up to 250°C, without altering its mechanical characteristics and the rubber Nitrile NBR, a versatile material with good resistance to oil, fuel, and grease.

Thermal resistance

NR can react well until 90° in a continuous manner. HNBR is characterized by its high temperature stability.

Norms of non toxity

NBR and FKM meet a series of standards that allow their use in the food environment.

Atmospheric resistance

most synthetic rubbers have an excellent resistance to ageing, especially to air, light, and ozone.

Mechanical resistance

NR has excellent mechanical behavior, including tensile, tear, abrasion, compression, resilience, and flexural strength. NBR and HNBR offer abrasion and tear resistance.

Hardness and densities

the hardness of our rubber can range from 25 shore A up to 99 shore A.

Chemical resistance

NR has an excellent contact with water and ketones. In terms of very high chemical resistance needs, EPDM offers high chemical resistance, especially to acids, oxidants, ketone and ester solvents, lacquers, and varnishes. HNBR provides excellent resistance to oils, greases, and petroleum products.
